Arizona Charter Academy

ACA’s mission for the past 20 years is to build future leaders who will make a positive impact on their communities. Anchoring on the values of grit, results, excellence, accountability, and thoughtfulness, the organization seeks to close academic gaps and empower all students and help them find their voice, so that one day they can pass it forward.

For ACA, excelling in school is not just all about numbers — success means being culturally aware and developing respect for themselves and other people. The school has received a A+ rating from the AZ Department of Education, maintained its status as a Top Company to Work For in Arizona for seven years in a row, and was named to the 2021 Arizona’s Most Admired Companies list.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have made their way onto Arizona’s Most Admired Companies list eight times — and for good reason. This elite baseball team is committed to serving the community, especially the needs of the youth. Through the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, the team supports youth baseball field developments and sports outreach programs throughout Arizona, with initiatives that include the D-back Give Back Youth Jersey Program, Mike Kennedy Field Building Program, and Nicole Hazen Fund for Hope.

They also partnered with the University of Phoenix to provide $5,000 grants for innovative education projects and with Chase to offer free STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lessons to students and their families. The Diamondbacks’ community and youth building projects are a multitude, and this is why they belong in our list of Best of Heart companies that care.

In addition to being a caring company to work for, this team has brought home the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2014-19 Million Dollar Circle of Excellence award and 2017 Corporation of the Year. They’ve been honored with the United Nations’ 2010 NGO Positive Peace Award, and have received the American Association for Access, Equity, & Diversity’s 2017 Champion of Diversity Award.
