Denise Gredler

CEO & Founder

Denise Gredler is the state’s preeminent thought leader and visionoary in employer branding and workplace culture. Denise is best known for establishing large-scale workplace awards programs, including the Best Places to Work in the Valley, Arizona’s Most Admired Companies, and Top Companies to Work For in Arizona.

Before founding BestCompaniesAZ, Denise was the vice president of human resources for Finova Capital Corporation. There, she built a human resources department for a small subsidiary into a decentralized human resources function for a public company with more than 1,500 employees nationwide. Working closely with the CEO, Denise nurtured and promoted the company’s dynamic work culture, landing the company in the top 20 on Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. She created work/life initiatives, recruitment and retention strategies, HR surveys and employee communications to build an outstanding employer brand.

As strategic partner for the Arizona’s Most Admired Companies and Top Companies to Work for in Arizona programs, Denise and her team provide a competitive advantage for employer branding in today’s challenging talent market. In her rare bits of spare time, Denise likes to travel with husband Karl and son Max, and tries her best to enjoy the workout and healthy eating program she’s committed to.

Kelly Burleson

Marketing and Client Relations Manager

Kelly is a 2015 Arizona State University graduate with a B.S. in Marketing and a Certificate in International Business. She even dabbled in the creative side of things when she went back to school to obtain a Certificate in Interior Merchandising with a focus in Interior Design and Retail Merchandising. After that, she became a licensed Realtor, so you could say she is a jack-of-all trades.

She has a diverse background with five years’ experience in marketing, event planning and merchandising. Kelly is highly creative, yet analytical, boasting both a “dream big” and a logical sense to her work ethic. She enjoys working on teams and helping people achieve their professional and personal goals.

Outgoing, driven and hardworking, Kelly loves to be of service to others, especially our awesome clients. When she’s not Tweeting, Instagramming or designing, you can find her on an airplane, enjoying brunch and staying active with friends and family.

Thorin Yee

Marketing Intern

Thorin is a senior at Arizona State University pursuing a B.S. in Marketing and a B.S. in Business Data Analytics. On campus, Thorin is a Residential Engagement Leader in Hassayampa Academic Village helping with retention of first year students. He is also the Vice President of Leadership for Phi Kappa Theta where he helps organize community service events and plan professional development events for members of the fraternity.

Thorin has previously worked in four other internships as a marketing intern in a variety of fields such as healthcare and VR and AR technology. He is a self-proclaimed perfectionist and brings that same passion to every new position that he takes. Thorin likes to bring creative flair to all of his work and he enjoys interacting with people and being collaborative.

Thorin is very involved in both school and work, but loves to be a ray of sunshine to everyone he meets. When Thorin is not working or in class, you can find him spending time with friends or catching the next EDM show.

Stephanie Burchfield

Burchfield & Wolin Public Relations

Stephanie Burchfield established Burchfield & Wolin Public Relations in 1996 after relocating to Phoenix from Los Angeles. Utilizing her background in corporate communications and journalism, she created a company comprised of senior communications professionals who provide a range of services, including media relations, branding, publicity, strategic planning, content development, crisis communications, product launches and event planning.

Prior to entering the public relations, Burchfield held news staff reporting positions at the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Daily News and Los Angeles Herald-Examiner. She was a part-time faculty member at California State University, Northridge, where she taught editing, layout and graphic design. She graduated with a master’s degree in journalism from C.S.U.N. She has held an Accredited Public Relations certification for more than 20 years, awarded by the Public Relations Society of America. In addition to being a newspaper reporter, she has been published in numerous trade publications, and served as editor of two magazines in the real estate and insurance industries.

Deborah Peck, PhD.

Strategic Consulting Partner

As a network engineer turned organizational psychologist, Dr. Deb loves turning intuition into science. Those “soft skills” and culture concepts you thought couldn’t be measured? She can measure them, using her own trademarked scientific process.

Dr. Deb’s calming, patient, non-judgmental presence doesn’t mean she sugarcoats her communication, since she’s known for integrity and honesty. She can handle the truth if you can.

Despite her passion for her work, Dr. Deb is most proud of raising a smart and kind son. In her rich and varied life history, she’s traveled Europe on her own, and still looks for opportunities to travel and experience great restaurants. One of Dr. Deb’s simple pleasures is going on long hikes and snuggling with her 80-pound lap dog, Dreygan, a four year old Dobie.

Dr. Deb can help solve complex organizational challenges. She often gives more than she receives. But she has her boundaries – don’t ask her to do the accounting.

Mary Hall

Founder, CultureWise Consulting

Mary Hall, Founder of CultureWise Consulting is helping companies build cultures focused on Purpose, People and Performance. As the co-founder and COO of Take Charge America, Mary was a hands-on leader who built a company from a few family members to over five hundred employees who united and became an industry leader serving over one million clients nationwide who struggle with consumer debt, student loans and home ownership. In an effort to proactively address a consumer debt crisis and a deficiency in financial literacy, Mary partnered with company leadership and the University of Arizona to create the Take Charge America Institute offering student led university education and free curriculum and training to K-8 and high school teachers throughout the country.

Throughout her career, Mary worked with teams of dedicated professionals to build a culture that led to four Best Place to Work awards, three Better Business Ethics Awards and two Presidential Points of Light awards for volunteerism. Although best known for her commitment to building a fun, caring and innovative culture, Mary can also be found buried in spreadsheets, mesmerized by metrics and obsessed with innovation.

She is a PeopleInk™ Certified Values Blueprint Pro Facilitator, serves as a judge for the Most Admired Companies award, is a Conscious Capitalism Ambassador and a Contact Center Network Group Academy Member and a proud mother of two amazing young adults.
