Best Workplaces for Working Mothers and Fathers

There are many companies in Arizona with programs that support parents. We’ve highlighted some of them below.

1. Axon

Axon is committed to supporting working parents and offers a two-part parental leave policy. It consists of a paid Supplemental Pregnancy and Parental Leave Policy (for up to 20 weeks total) for eligible employees. Depending on an expectant mother’s tenure, she is eligible for up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave. Mothers and fathers welcoming a new child at home are encouraged to take advantage of 10 weeks of paid parental leave.

The company takes mental health very seriously as well, so all employees, as well as two loved ones (ages 18 and older), have 24/7 access to on-demand behavioral health coaching, video therapy and more via the Ginger wellness app. Sustaining one’s health and wellness is a priority for Axon, which includes family time.

2. GoDaddy

GoDaddy powers the world’s largest cloud platform dedicated to small and independent ventures. As a global, publicly-traded company, it also treats its new parents with care. It offers generous parental leave for all new parents.

In addition, GoDaddy provides off-site subsidized child care, paid sick leave to care for children, and lactation rooms in their offices for nursing mothers.

GoDaddy also provides family building benefits, including: fertility assistance, adoption assistance of up to $5,000 per adoption, and healthy pregnancy programs. They recently announced a paid time off program for families choosing to welcome and support a new foster child into their home.

The way GoDaddy treats its new parents, and its state-of-the-art facilities are just two ways they set themself apart as one of the best companies for working mothers and fathers in Arizona.

3. Farmers Insurance

Farmers Insurance® has a strong commitment to working parents and fostering a workplace environment where employees feel supported and empowered to thrive in their roles. Farmers® is proud to offer eligible employees 10 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for parents (through birth, surrogacy or legal adoption of a child aged 17 or younger) to care for and bond with a new child. The organization also offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees, including a 401(k), medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and accident insurance, and more.

The organization’s Parent Connect Employee Resource Group helps support working parents by providing webinars, tools, resources, and a diverse support network. Additionally, a subscription to Headspace is made available to employees at no cost. Headspace provides a robust library of videos, articles and mindfulness tools, and includes parenting resources and activities for children.

4. Ryan, LLC

Ryan is an award-winning global tax services and software provider that liberates clients from the burden of being overtaxed, freeing their capital to invest, grow, and thrive. It is one of the best companies for working moms and dads because it offers a flexible work environment conducive to parenting.

myRyan is a cultural shift that allows working parents to focus on results and client service rather than when and where work is done. Because Ryan measures performance on results achieved, not hours worked, traditional vacation and paid time off (PTO) programs are not in place for exempt (salaried) employees.

The company gives working parents 14 weeks of paid leave for any new additions to their family, including adoption. Ryan offers outstanding earning potential, comprehensive benefits, and an accelerated growth path. In December 2021, Ryan was on the Great Place to Work® Best Workplaces for Parents™ list [greatplacetowork.com] for the fifth consecutive year.

5. Workiva

Workiva, an innovative software as a service company, offers a number of ways to support working parents in improving and sustaining wellbeing!  Offering flexible hours and geographic mobility, employees are empowered to work where they work best.  Additionally, generous paid time off policies such as 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave, 4 weeks of PTO for new hires, and VTO provide for additional flexibility.  All employees also benefit from support for emotional and mental wellbeing through partnership with Modern Health, providing access to 1:1 coaching and therapy, group sessions, digital programs, and meditations.

Full time employees also have comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) match, and more. This company truly values the health and wellbeing of its employees, and that is shown through its extensive benefits package.
