Desert Financial Credit Union

More than eighty years ago, Desert Financial Credit Union was founded by 15 courageous educators who pooled together all of the money they had – just $78.75. With help from our members, our community and our team, we have grown from those humble beginnings to become Arizona’s largest locally based credit union. Desert Financial also has two Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) subsidiaries: SwitchThink Solutions, an IT services CUSO, helps more than 70 credit unions nationwide safeguard their data and maintain, develop, convert and update mission-critical systems and technologies. Define Mortgage Solutions, a mortgage services CUSO, provides mortgage lending services to connect homebuyers with a home loan that’s right for them. Desert Financial is dedicated to strengthening our local economy and workforce while providing financial solutions for more than 360,000 members. As part of our continued commitment to DEIA, Desert Financial is sponsoring a five-year research program through Filene Research Institute’s Center for Excellence. Led by Dr. Quinetta Roberson of Michigan State University, the project lays the foundation for credit unions to be able to measure their progress in achieving a more diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace.
