“I am personally challenged here at Schwab, so I’m growing as an individual, not just as an employee.”
We had the opportunity to connect with Stacey to learn more about her story and what makes her proud to be a Schwabbie.

SR: I am new to finance. I was ready to make a career change and at the time I was considering either a shift to a career in education or going back to school. I needed an opportunity to learn something new, but I decided it was best to remain in the workforce. Being new to finance, I saw Schwab as a perfect fit for my desire to learn. Originally I was a little apprehensive about making a career change into finance because of the stereotypes, but after coming to Schwab and seeing what the culture is like I felt reassured.
Q: Why Schwab?
SR: My husband works for Schwab and had been talking about the industry for a while. Every time we would talk about his job, he was so enthusiastic and had such a positive story to tell at the end of each day. I was unsure if it was going to wear off, but it hasn’t. It has been over a year and a half and he still loves it. Because I am a learner, it was important to me to be in a culture where I would have opportunities for growth. After talking with my husband and seeing how Schwab’s corporate values match my own personal values, I knew what I had heard about Schwab’s culture was true.
Q: What has made you successful at Schwab?
SR: The people around me have enabled me to be successful. Everyone I have encountered has been a wealth of knowledge. My current manager and team mates have all been so helpful in a way that I’ve been able to flourish because of their support.
Q: What do you enjoy most about Schwab?
SR: Having a balance between work and life is extremely important to me. With 5 kids, flexibility is a necessity. Schwab offers so many different shifts and makes it easy to request schedule changes.
I also really enjoy the employee resource groups. It opens up the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and be involved outside of our daily work routines.
Recently, I participated in my first Schwab Volunteer Day. We created care packages for soldiers and individually wrote them notes to show our appreciation. I was honored to be a part of such an important activity.
Q: What makes you want to stay at Schwab?
SR: What makes me want to stay at Schwab is the culture, positivity, and values. There is so much growth potential for upward mobility. I am personally challenged here at Schwab, so I’m growing as an individual, not just as an employee.
