To support our global business strategy, and to enhance employees’ professional networks, Northern Trust sponsors a number of business resource councils (affinity groups) with an executive advisor. Each business resource council is employee-initiated, governed, and led. Membership is open to any Northern Trust employee in our global divisions who shares an affinity for the mission of the group.
Our Mission Statement:
The Black Business Resource Council (BBRC) was established to benefit both the membership and Northern Trust through personal and professional development, networking, and community involvement.

Philanthropy is deeply rooted in Northern Trust’s history and an essential element of our culture.
Around the world, Northern Trust employees give freely of their time and talent to work for the greater good of their communities.
To help empower these efforts, Northern Trust offers two paid days off to volunteer for charities of their choice, in addition to connecting employees with not-for-profit organizations that can benefit from their unique talent.
The result is more than 1 million volunteer hours in the last decade – and countless communities made stronger. See Northern Trust’s impact.
