Military Career Event: Feb. 22
I love it when I hear people say, “Thank you for your service” to our military personnel but do we stop and think about what all goes into the service they provide for us? The next time we have the opportunity to thank our military for their service, let us think about the unique services they offer to us. They protect our country, our Constitution, and many other things. We are able to peaceably sleep in our beds at night because rough men and women stand ready to do what it takes to protect us.
Once our military personnel have fulfilled their duty they are then faced with a totally different set of challenges and that is surrounded by reentering the civilian world. There are many public and private sector resources available-but most are there for after you have left the military and not during the preparation process. This can put you into a tail-chase that seems like you cannot run fast enough to keep up with your goals for accomplishing your post-military career. There also those who may have a job but have a desire to better themselves by obtaining a job more suited to their skills.
